I recently finished my first ever commissioned quilt. Its a full size, southwest design. I got the commission a week before Christmas and had to deliver it on Jan.7th, that's only 3 weeks to design, produce, quilt & finish it, but I made the deadline with time to spare. Here are the pics. The middle image is Hopi & the danvers are on each end of the quilt with the dancers images being quilted in the "drop" that goes over the edge of the bed.>
BEAUTIFUL
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I think I would have freaked out with that kind of deadline.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. I hope that you weren't too harried over this. I know it would have made me nuts. It's a nice job for one which had to be created so quickly. I hope you explained to the consigner that this was not a normal thing and that you pulled out all stops lest this be expected of you as "normal." Good job!
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt! You did a great job with it. I love the contrast of the center medallion and the flow of the figures at the ends.
ReplyDeleteInspiring that you could accept and complete this commission within such time constraints. As I look at this on New Year's day, am thinking that a resolution to not complicate and overthink, and instead just do is in order for me. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGood for you on being so speedy and productive. It's a great quilt, too!
